Register Now for Novels In Progress Workshop 2008!
Novels In Progress Workshop provides a great opportunity to get to know other fiction writers from across the region in a creative and supportive atmosphere. Conference activities include faculty-led breakout sessions, individual instruction with faculty mentors, small-group critique sessions, a panel discussion with agents and editors, and opportunities for one-on-one meetings with agent and editor guests.

2008 Conference Meeting March 9 to 16 in Louisville
Our 2008 conference faculty brings to the event wide ranging expertise and experience across multiple genres. This year's instructors are Andrew Beahrs (historical fiction), Elizabeth Bevarly (romance), Jeanne M. Dams (mystery), Julianne Lee (fantasy and science fiction) and Elaine Fowler Palencia (literary and women’s fiction).


Participants can choose from three enrollment options:

Full Conference -- $479 ($429 with early-bird discount until February 15!)

  • Daily Breakout Sessions on essential writing skills, strategies for completing a novel, and tips for getting published
  • Personal instruction with faculty mentor
  • Faculty-moderated peer critique sessions
  • Featured Industry Speaker (Friday)
  • Agent and Editor Panel Discussion (Saturday)
  • Pitch Meetings with editors and agents (Saturday)
Breakout Sessions Plus -- $329 ($279 with early-bird discount until February 15!)
  • Daily Breakout Sessions on essential writing skills, strategies for completing a novel, and tips for getting published
  • Featured Industry Speaker (Friday)
  • Agent and Editor Panel Discussion (Saturday)
Single-Day
  • Morning and afternoon breakout sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday ($99)
  • Agent and Editor Panel Discussion, plus Agent and Editor Pitch Meetings on Saturday ($169)
  • All Single-Day Registrants welcome at Keynote Speaker presentation on Friday
All participants are invited to several activities throughout the week, including an Orientation Meeting and Welcome Dinner, a Mid-week Pizza Party, and a Closing Party for participants, faculty, and visiting agents and editors. Affordable on-campus accommodations are available. (See the Fees tab for details regarding on-campus lodging.)
