GRW will host California poet Richard Beban at a debut reading in Louisville at Carmichael's Bookstore on Frankfort Avenue on Sunday, October 16, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. Richard will be signing his latest collection Young Girl Eating a Bird. |

Richard, whose first book What the Heart Weighs (2004), was Red Hen Press's best-selling book in any genre this year, takes a turn toward the surreal in his new collection, Young Girl Eating a Bird. | ||||
| Richard's reading at Carmichael's will be his only Louisville appearance this year. Since 1994, his work has appeared in more than fifty periodicals and in twenty national anthologies. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He has read with such notables as Galway Kinnel | ![]() |
